Virginia May Myers

Virginia May Smith Myers age 79 of Fordyce, entered into her Heavenly home early Friday, April 7, 2023. She was born October 8, 1943 to the late Thomas Smith and Lucille Roth Smith in St. Genevieve, Missouri. She was a 1961 graduate of Cahokia High School in Cahokia, Illinois. Mrs. Myers enjoyed watching John Wayne westerns, coloring in adult coloring book, bingo and socializing with family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Smith (Bonnie) and Lucille Roth Smith Scholebo (Otis), a sister, Shirley Smith, brother, Harry Smith and a grandson, Daniel Gee.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty nine years, Richard Myers of Fordyce; daughters, Debra Myers of Fordyce, Sherry Gee (Ronald) of Clinton; son, Jeff Myers of Canton, MS; sister, Betty Horton (Andre) of White Hall; brothers, John Smith, Otis Scholebo (Trini), all of White Hall; grandchildren, Chad, Denise, Heath, Michael, Amber and Alyssa; great grandchildren, Colin, Braden, James, John David, Richard, Olivia, Kenlee, Kolby and Devin; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff on CE wing at JRMC, Affinity Hospice nurses, Kathy Howell and Tenecia Mills.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2023 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison, with visitation, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday April 9, 2023. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery near White Hall.
