Vickie Nelson

Vickie McClaflin Nelson, age 59, of Grapevine, passed away peacefully April 10,
2023. She was born June 18, 1963 in Tulsa, OK to the late Robert and Alma
Mathes McClaflin. Vickie loved spending time in her garden, raising her chickens,
working in her flower beds and tending to her beloved sunflowers. When she
wasn’t outside, she was inside watching The Golden Girls, or going on late night
shopping sprees with her daughters. She was a very loving wife, mother,
grandmother, and friend. She would light up a room with her laughter and
kindness. Vickie always took care of everyone around her, no matter if it was
family, a friend, or a stranger. She was the bond that held her family together.
She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
by her granddaughter, Madison Christy (Pumpkin), and brother, Bob McClaflin.
She is survived by her loving husband, Walter Nelson, daughters, Shaunna Christy
(Rick Brunson), and Kylah Nelson, grandchildren, Jayanna Young (Poot), Zaylen
Nelson (Shooting Star), Savanna Duron (Nanners), and Teegan Nelson (Ears), and
many more family and friends.
 

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m., until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at
Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday at
Hedden Chapel Assembly of God in Grapevine, with burial to follow in Hedden
Chapel Cemetery.
