Ricky D. Riggins

Ricky “RD” Don Riggins, age 58, of Rison, AR. passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.  He was born June 4, 1961 in Rison to Mack and Helen King Riggins.  Ricky retired from the Pine Bluff Police Department where he was a Detective Sergeant for the homicide unit.  He was assistant director for the Arkansas Municipal Police Association, worked for the Arkansas State Police used vehicle inspection department, a Sunday school teacher for Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, and church security director. He was an avid Razorback fan, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda Riggins, son Heath Ryan Wingard and his wife Baylee, granddaughter Raelynn Reese “Sunshine” Wingard, brothers Mack Riggins (Alice) of Rison, Billy Riggins (Ceilia) of White Hall, sister, Betty Valentine (Hal) of Harker Heights, TX., sister in law Judy Kimbrell (Wayne) of White Hall, brother in law, Buddy LeNarz (Donna) of Carmel, IN., Sam LeNarz (Andra) of Petal, MS., numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and by all his Brothers in Blue. He is also survived by his adopted brothers in Blue, Jimmy Doster and Glen Mixon.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a private graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. for the family at Greenwood Cemetery.
