Obituary

Richard Lamar Boykin, age 76 of Pine Bluff, passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born December 1, 1946 in Bastrop, LA to the late John Boykin and Frances Lillian Martin. Richard loved being outdoors, he enjoyed working in the yard, hunting and fishing.  He was a talented taxidermist, that could bring any animal to life, and had a house full of his trophies.  He will be deeply missed.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doyce Boykin.

He is survived by his wife, Vonda Thomas Boykin, children, David Boykin (Jennifer), and Deborah Jonio, grandchildren, Ashley Herring (Blake), Hunter, Baleigh and Matthew Boykin, great- grandchild, Braxton Herring, siblings, Kenneth Tate, Sue Tate, Ann Tate, Terry Tate, Donnie Tate, and Bobbie Boykin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Palmyra, with funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m.
