Raymond Shirey

Raymond Shirey, age 73 of Star City, passed away June 1, 2023 in Little Rock.  He was born December 4, 1949 in Monticello, AR to the late Hollis and Maxine Myhand Shirey.  Raymond was a retired maintenance mechanic for the Pine Bluff Paper Mill.  He enjoyed being outdoors, cooking and grilling, fishing, hunting, and doing his woodworking.  Raymond was a Harley Davidson man, he spent many hours riding his motorcycle all over town and going on road trips.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He will be truly missed.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Shirey.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Rita Shirey, children, April Pambianchi, Lori Shirey, and Jeremy Shirey (Jessica), grandchildren, Cesilee Bixler, Landen Shirey, Hunter McConnell, Maddie Shirey, Hayden McConnell and Hudson Downen, one brother, David Shirey, and by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Buie Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery.
