Ralph Philton Warnix, age 88 of Leola, passed away peacefully at his home, Friday, December 20, 2019. He was born June 5, 1931 in Calhoun County, Arkansas to the late William Fred Warnix and Nancy Robinson Warnix. Phil retired from Georgia Pacific after 37 years, where he was the head millwright machinist. In his free time, Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing, flint knapping, and making custom duck calls. He was a Missionary Baptist, and loved going to church. Phil was preceded in death by his brother L.A. Warnix.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joycie Lynn Warnix, son, Jim Warnix and his wife Sue, daughter, Jane Bridges and her husband David, grandchildren, Angela Hatridge and husband Josh, Brittney Vick and her husband Michael, C.J. and Justin Schmacher, great grandchildren, Tanner and Payton Bridges, Jake and Abby Hatridge, brother, Phinis Warnix and his wife Marilyn, and by his sister in law Rosemary Warnix, and by numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2019 at Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery in Fordyce.
