Mildred Eugene Granderson

Mildred Eugene Pennington Granderson, 96, of Rison, passed away May 28, 2018, at the Greenhouse Cottages of Southern Hills.  She was born February 21, 1922, in Rowell, Arkansas, to the late John L. and Mary Reed Pennington.  She attended school in Wilmot and Rison; was receptionist for Dr. A.B. Robertson for over 10 years.  After Dr. Robertson retired, she clerked at Calaway's Grocery for a number of years.  She enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables, crocheting, sewing, working crossword puzzles and reading.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Lewis Granderson; her parents; brothers Ted, Argus (Pete), David, and infant Pennington; sisters, Virginia Kytle and Mary Faye Anderson; and grandbaby, Jacqueline Jordan.

She is survived by a son, Bobby Granderson of Rison and a daughter, Patsy Jordan (Jack) of Monticello and Little Rock; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.  She is also survived by her sister, Ida Hightower of Rison, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Southern Hills Greenhouse Cottages and Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
