Michael "Buckwheat" Cash

Michael Gene “Buckwheat” Cash, age 59, of Mabelvale, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born April 7, 1962 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late J.R. and Jennie Lee Taylor Cash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Billy, Lamar, Duck, JC, Jerry and Rabbit, his sister, Margaret, four nephews, JC, Jr., Mikey, Lamar, Jr., and Denny Cash, and one great-nephew Cody McCann. He was a mechanic that loved building race cars of working on anything with a motor and wheels, “GO BLUE 22.”  He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his loved ones. He will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his children, Rhonda (Justin) Higgs, Brian Cash, three grandchildren, Brayden Cash, Madison Adkins and Jacey Higgs, his wife of 25 years Marilyn Pruss, bonus daughter, Stephanie (Robbie) Johnson, and three bonus grandchildren, Johnny, Madelyn and Matthew, sisters, Edith, Tammy (Larry) Copeland and Diane (Gary) Harvey, one brother, Virgil Cash, sister-in-law’s Rosie, Burnice and Joyce, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends to cherish his memories forever.

Pallbearers will be Justin Higgs, Billy Ray Cash, Jr., Larry Copeland, Jr., Jerry Webb, Chris Cash, Aaron Potts, Dennis Cash and Charles Skinner. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Salem Cemetery, 20621 Arch Street, Little Rock, AR 72206.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church in East End. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery in East End.
