Mack Leopard

Claudy Mack Leopard, 71, of Rison, AR, passed on to his eternal resting place in heaven Monday, April 13, 2020.  He was born March 25, 1949 in Cleveland County to Raymond Leopard and Rachel McKenzie Leopard.  Mack was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.  He received his education graduating from Rison High School in 1967.  He retired from Stant in Pine Bluff where he worked in maintenance for 18 years.  Mack was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He loved listening to anyone who was “picking and grinning”, while he did most of the grinning.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Malena Leopard Selman and Patty Lucas, his niece who they raised as their daughter; three sisters, Carolyn Leopard, Juanita Via and Janet Hefley.

He is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Brenda Sue Valentine Leopard, who he married on June 21, 1968; one daughter, Stacie Youngblood (J.R.) of Hampton; two grandsons, Remington Selman and Jacob Selman of Rison; two brothers, David Leopard (Wanda) and Jim Leopard of Rison; a step-mother, Kathleen Leopard of Vilonia and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. 

Visitation will be at Buie Funeral Home in Rison, Wednesday, April 15, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Carlin Gray officiating.  Pallbearers are Danny West, Brent Leopard, Brad Leopard, Timmy Owen, Todd Lunsford, Tadd Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers are Terry J. Lunsford and Cory West.
