John Roy Speer

John Roy Speer, age 74, of Rison, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 18, 2021. He was born November 13, 1947 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to the late W.R. Speer and Hazel Hunter Speer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Christie Bruich and his siblings, Joyce Fagala and Paul Speer. Mr. Speer was a United States Army veteran and later retired from Georgia Pacific Bag Plant, where worked as a supervisor. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, hunting, fishing, reading, golf, watching westerns and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Jan Kelley Speer, his children Jennifer Speer Scheffer and her husband Jason, William Ray Speer and his wife Kim, grandchildren, Noah Scheffer, Savannah Scheffer, Molly Kate Speer and Fallon Bruich. He is also survived by his siblings, Don Speer and his wife Carolyn, James Speer and his wife Barbara, Charles Speer and his wife Linda, David Speer and his wife Angie, Ben Speer and his wife Melissa, Mary Ceren and her husband Dale and numerous nieces, nephews and family who loved him dearly.
