James Howard Reeves

James Howard Reeves, 85, of Rison, passed away on January 8, 2019 at Green House Cottages in Rison, Arkansas, where he was a resident for the past 6 years.  He was born August 13, 1933 in Parkdale, Arkansas, to Willie A. Reeves and Lillie Bell Whitlock Reeves.  He worked as a salesman for 30 years in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and was owner/operator of four other businesses before his retirement.  He also served with the Jefferson County Mounted Patrol and Rescue for many years.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially in the Arkansas River around Brodie Bend.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Reeves; son, Rusty Reeves; step-son, William Russell; parents; three brothers and one sister. 

James was survived by two sons, Butch (Leonette) Reeves and Jerry (Judy) Reeves; daughter, Susan (Tim) Coats; four step-daughters, Elizabeth Joest, Faye Bryant, Kathy Laughry and Melissa Taylor; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with Pastor Howard Loetscher officiating.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
