James Edward Hudman, Sr.

James Edward "Jim" Hudman, Sr., 72, of Rison, AR., passed away at his home February 15, 2022. Though Jim will be deeply missed by his friends and family, he leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a testament to a life well lived. Jim was born in Arkadelphia, AR. on February 24, 1949 to the late Thomas and Dorothy Hudman. Jim grew up in a large, loving family of eight brothers and sisters. Although, he was a long-time member of Forth Street Missionary Baptist Church in West Helena, AR., he most recently worshipped at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in the Rowell area. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force and fought for our country in the Vietnam War. Jim was in the "Siding" business for more than forty years and was the owner of Hudman Siding, where he worked alongside many family members, including his three sons, throughout the years. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and most recently he found a love for working on small engines. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and bothers, Roy Earl Hudman and Vernon Hudman.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Martha, son, James "Jimmy" and Danielle Hudman, son, Jimmy and Laura Baxter, son, Timmy and Jenny Peyton, daughter, Amy and Anthony Sosa, brother, Danny and Theresa Hudman, sister, Evelyn and David Rushing, sister, Sherry Belasco, sister, Theresa and Billy House, sister, Brenda and Jimmy Rushing, sister, Vanessa Horton, “adopted” brother, Jeff Diehl, ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life immediately after. Memorial donations can be made in his name to
Marty Hudman.
