Emma Sue (Spakes) Ballew

Sue Ballew, age 79, of Rison, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2018.  She was born February 26, 1939 in Rowell, Arkansas, to the late Foy Havis and Nedra D. Armstrong Spakes.  Mrs. Ballew was a member of Shepherd Hill Baptist Church.  She loved her dog, Bear Bear and on Saturday nights, she could usually be found at the local dirt track watching racing.  Sue will always be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother and aunt.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie B. Ballew and siblings, Margaret Bunting, Havis Spakes, Darrell Spakes and Rose Pierce.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Michael Shane Ballew of Rison, Dusty Ballew of Little Rock; sister, Linda Faye Vinson of Randall and numerous nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with Brother Thomas Lanthrip officiating.  Interment will follow in Rowell Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the funeral home.  Pallbearers are Chad Ballew, Jimmy Ballew Jr., Greg Spakes, Calvin Ballew, Tim Cole and David Cole.  Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
