Dr. Michael Lloyd Perdue

Dr. Michael Lloyd Perdue, D.D., age 56, of Sheridan was welcomed in the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on July 31, 2021. Michael was born May 28, 1965 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Clarence and Lila Perdue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Wesley Perdue.

Michael proudly served his country during Desert Storm, serving as a MP in the U.S. Army. He was founding senior pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Sheridan. He was the current senior pastor of Faith Bible Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, where he planted the seeds for growth in various ministries within the church.

Michael worked diligently to obtain his Doctorate of Divinity from Slidell Baptist University in Slidell, LA, his Doctorate of Biblical Counseling from Oval Baptist College in Lake Charles, LA and was continuing his studies to obtain a Doctorate in Theology from Slidell Baptist University.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Julie Medlin Perdue, four children, Tandi Isom (Bradley), Megan (Dust’n) Lunsford, Shelbi (Kristofor) Garrett and Dylan (Chloe) Perdue, and six grandchildren, Aidan Garrett, Tynleigh Isom, Havyn Garrett, Hadlee Lunsford, Jaxann Garrett, and Finley Perdue, and bonus son, Eddie Baggett. He is also survived by his siblings, James (Sharon) Perdue, Loretta Chapman, Glenda Holt, and Betty (Don) Gober, a host of nieces and nephews and his church family.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan with his friend and mentor Dr. Paul Dabdoub officiating. Interment will follow in Center Campground Cemetery.
