Doris Evelyn Simmons

Doris Evelyn Simmons, age 88, of Rison passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.  She was born on August 11, 1929 in Ivan, Arkansas, to the late Richard and Gertrude Price Peters. Mrs. Simmons was a Licensed Practical Nurse and homemaker.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Simmons and brother, Carroll Peters.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, J. T. Rodgers and his wife Margaret of Rison; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with a visitation prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at Rison.  Pallbearers are John David Rodgers, Tom Rodgers, Pete Peters, Robert Earl Simmons, Patrick Mayfield and Randy Offutt.  Funeral arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.buiefuneralhome.com.
