Diane Morrison Attwood

Diane Morrison Attwood was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on January 16, 1935, and died on May 8, 2023. She attended high school at Rison High where she was a cheerleader. She was a longtime employee of Elrod Company in Rison and Georgia Pacific in Fordyce.

Diane was a dancer & gymnast who loved her family, her garden, and her friends. When Pete was headed for college, his friend, Diane taught him how to dance.

Later in life, Diane and Pete fell in love and they had the first wedding in the new Methodist church when they married on January 7, 1972. Their Christmas Eve parties were legendary. They danced together all the rest of their lives.

Preceded in death by the love of her life: Victor Gray (Pete) Attwood; Her parents Chester Homer (Buddy) Morrison and Burnelle Hamilton Morrison Wilson; son Bill Houston; and grandson Jeffery Victor Dixon

She is survived by her brothers, Glen Morrison (Ginny, deceased) and Wade Morrison (Rita); her children, Gina Diane Houston Reynolds (Randy), Kitten Lee Dixon (Jeff), Paige Houston LyBrand (Randy), Irene Mauss (Daniel), Dawne Sokora (Jimmy) and Gene Attwood (Lana).

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tara Dixon (Danny), Jacob Lee Jackson (Shelby), Heath LyBrand (Hannah), Martha Mauss, Matthew Mauss (Kate), Hannah Rose (Chris), Nick Sokora, Zack Sokora (Laura), Alex Attwood; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers are: Randy Reynolds, Jeff Dixon, Randy LyBrand, Jake Jackson, Heath LyBrand.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Graveside services will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Saline Memorial Hospice 4000 Highway 5, Suite 5, Bryant, AR 72022, or Pleasant Hill Care Home 3418 Main Street, Suite 100, Bryant, AR 72022.
