Clarence Edward Parker Jr.

Clarence E. Parker Jr., 69, of Rison passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.  He was born on July 5, 1949 in Warren, Arkansas, a son of the late Clarence E. Parker Sr. and Gertrude Wright Parker.  Clarence married Alice Owen on September 5, 1970 at Fort DeRussy in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Mr. Parker was a retired Staff Sergeant in the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam.  He was also retired from Central Moloney, Inc. in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  He was of the Baptist faith.  Mr. Parker was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Ann Parker; one daughter, Rebecca Alice Parker; two grandchildren, Tyler Wayne Parker and Cash Michael Parker.

Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Alice Parker of Rison; four children, Clarence Parker III (Jana) of Star City, Steven Parker (Brandi) of Little Rock, Christy Runion (Marvin) of Rison and Matthew Parker (Missy) of Rison; four brothers, Bobby Parker, David Parker, James Parker, Danny Lee Parker; three sisters, Sharon Hayden, Linda Toth, Glenda Strickland; eight grandchildren, Morgan Parker, Megan Parker, Halie Courtney, Bailey Parker, Seattle Parker, Seth Parker, Bentley Parker, Wyatt Parker and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with Brother Ronald Young officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  A visitation will be held prior to the service Sunday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Pallbearers are Jim Crofford, Owen Crofford, Rex Stocks, Chris Strickland, Bruce Stocks and Seth Parker; honorary pallbearers are Bobby Parker, David Parker, James Parker, Danny Lee Parker and Johnny Parker.  Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870)325-6216.
