Betty Jo Veazey

Betty Jo Veazey was born January 13th, 1952 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to parents Annie Mae (Hobson) Veazey and Urbon Franklin Veazey. During her lifetime she lived in Rison, Arkansas, Brevard, North Carolina, Homestead, Florida and Albuquerque, and Farmington, New Mexico. After the death of her mother in 1980, Betty Jo returned to Rison, Arkansas with her father and later became a resident of the Rison Nursing Home and then the Green House Cottages of Southern Hills.

Betty Jo was a gentle and sweet person and remained innocent as a child throughout her entire life. Betty Jo Veazey passed from this life and entered her eternal heavenly home on Friday February 26th, 2021 at the Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 69 years. 

 She was preceded in death by her grandparents Oscar Green and Johnnie Elizabeth Veazey and Thomas Arnold and Eula Gertrude Hobson; parents Urbon Franklin and Annie Mae Veazey; and a brother Thomas Oscar Veazey, and one sister-in-law Lorita Veazey. She is survived by two brothers, Robert Franklin Veazey, and Herbert Arnold Veazey and wife Betty; and sister-in-law Connie Veazey, and several nieces and nephews.

The Veazey Family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Puterbaugh House of the Green House Cottages of Southern Hills of Rison, Arkansas for their many years of loving care for Betty Jo. 

 A graveside service in celebration of Betty Jo’s home-going will be held Thursday March 4th at 1:00pm at the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Rison, Arkansas.
