Barbara Poss

A faithful member of Rison Assembly of God Church, Barbara Jo Poss, went to be with her Heavenly father on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. She was born in Cleveland County on May 22, 1943 to the late John William “J.W.” Green and Lorene Ratliff Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by the love of her life, her husband, Johnnie Carroll Poss.

She is survived by her children, Johnny Randall “Randy” Poss and his wife Sheena Poss, Rebecca Gail McDonald and husband Kenneth McDonald. She was also survived by, loved and adored by, her nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one sister, JoAnn Whittington, one brother, Tommy Green and his wife Pam, a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

She had a true servant’s heart, helping anyone in need. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends and watching Wildcat and Razorback football.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2020 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery near Grapevine. 

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic face coverings are required upon entering the funeral home.
