Wanda Sue Hale

Wanda Sue Hale, age 71, of Little Rock passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on November 4, 1947 in Grapevine, Arkansas to William Ernest and Margery Morris Hale.  Wanda was a 1965 graduate of Pine Bluff High School.  After graduating, she attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.  In 1969 she received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.  She had a long career in the nursing field.  Earlier on, she worked as a surgical nurse for Missouri Pacific Hospital until it’s closing.  At the time of her retirement, she was working for the State of Arkansas in their Long-term Care Division.  When her health permitted, she was a faithful member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff.  Some of the things she enjoyed in life were cooking for others, quilting and taking care of her family, even being the babysitter for her sister’s little dog sometimes.  Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Lee Stover.

Left to cherish many memories of her are her siblings, Deloris Stover of Woodlawn, Doug Hale and wife, Jane of West Plains, Missouri and Kelley Hale of Pine Bluff; one niece; four nephews; four great nieces; eight great nephews and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2019 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.  Dr. Michael Suttle will officiate.  Interment will follow at Grapevine Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers are Brian Shaddock, Charles Hale, David Hale, Mike Stover, Brad Haynes and Juston Hamilton; honorary pallbearers are Bradley Haynes, Josh Haynes, Wil Shaddock, Kaleb Francis, Gage Hale, Ashur Hale, Noah Hale and Hudson Hale.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Gideons International in her honor.  Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
