Renaye Umphres Obituary

Renaye Gail Umphres, 63 of Mabelvale, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 in Little Rock. She was born August 25, 1956 in Texarkana, Texas to James and Betty Freeze. Renaye was a retired teacher from Watson Chapel School District, where she lovingly taught gifted and talented math. She was active in the chess club and quiz bowl, where her students won many tournaments, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Sardis. She was preceded in death by her father, James Freeze.

Renaye is survived by her mother Betty Freeze, her loving husband of 45 years, Mike Umphres, daughters, Rachel Moody (Clifford) and Kristen Lemons (Chuck), grandchildren Carley Moody, Cliff Moody, Hayden Lemons, Claire Lemons, and McKeena Lemons, and two brothers, Doug and Bobby Freeze.
