Marilyn Hurst

Marilyn Louise Rhodes Hurst, age 73, of Sheridan went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. She was born November 2, 1944 in Sheridan to the late Robert Claud Rhodes and Jacqueline Jones Rhodes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Edward Hurst, sister, Faye Huggins and one nephew Brandon Owens. Mrs. Hurst enjoyed sewing crafting, cooking and spending time with family at the monthly fish fry. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and Nana.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Lee Hurst, one son, Ronald Hurst (Valerie) of Prattsville, one daughter Cyndi Livingston of Sheridan, brothers, Robert Rhodes (Joanne) of Rison, Charles Rhodes, Diane Davis (Cole), Brenda Brown (Harlan) and Darlene Rhodes all of Sheridan, one sister-in-law Louise Ray, grandchildren Cory Hurst (Jill), Camron Hurst (Shanna), Erica Nutt (Jake), great-grandchildren, Emily and Allison Hurst, Camden, Wriley and Cole Hurst, Rainie, McCrae, Hagen Nutt and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan with Bro. Danny Hill and Bro. Don Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in Rhodes Cemetery in Sheridan.
