John Steven Beckel, age 72, of Prattsville went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2018. He was born March 10, 1946 in Maryville, MO to the late Art and Evelyn Beckel. He was a retired truck driver and later worked as a security officer for Superior Protection. Mr. Beckel enjoyed fishing and watching football. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Jeanie Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Bonnie Beckel, his children, John Beckel Jr. of Salina, KS, Ricky Martin (Julie) of Avoca, IA, Cathy Walden of Salina, KS, stepchildren, Alissa Kay Hollinger and Robert Helble, grandchildren, Kelsey Martin (Mason Good) of Minden, IA, Kyle Mennenga, Ashlee Shae Helble, James Mennenga, siblings, Mary Ann (James) Jillson of Clarinda, IA, Diana Moulden (Danny) of Basehor, KS, Donald (Rita) Beckel of Maryville, MO, Darrell Beckel Clarinda, IA, and Cathy Runyon (Marvin) Clarinda, IA.
