James Melton Williams

James M. Williams, age 87, went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Washington Regional Memorial Hospital in Fayetteville. James was born August 24, 1931, in Rison, Arkansas and was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

James lived in Sterling, Illinois for 42 years employed in the home improvement industry with Rock River Roofing Company and later as owner of Jim Williams Siding Service. In 1992, James and his wife Ethyl, returned to Rison, Arkansas where they enjoyed 25 years of retirement. In 2017, they moved to Farmington, Arkansas to be near family.

James enjoyed his family, home projects, fishing, reading, travel and civic interests; served on the Cleveland County Nursing Home Board and was a member of the Rison Methodist Church. Cleveland County Arkansas was always home to James.

James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ethyl (Holderfield) Williams, one son Mark and wife Sherry Williams of West Fork, Arkansas, one daughter Jennifer and husband Rick Futrell of Texarkana, Arkansas, one brother Roger Williams of White Hall, Arkansas.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home, Rison, AR. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Rison, AR with Rev Ike Mohr presiding. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
