Georgia Walker Obituary

Georgia Bill Shelton Walker age 92 of the Y Community near Rison, died, Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Cleveland County Nursing Home. She was born May 5, 1915 in Rison, a daughter of the late A. D. and Cora White Shelton. On April 9, 1931, she married Mack Walker in Rison. Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and a member of Bethel # 1 Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mack Walker whom died on August 25, 2002; one grandson, Michael Gurnsey; two brothers, Mark Shelton, Dub Shelton; three sisters, Ola Bridges, Ollie Reed, Beadie Biggs.

Mrs. Walker is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, O.D. and Linda Walker of the Y Community; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Wayne Gurnsey of the Y Community, Judy and Joe Paul King of Rison, Martha and Randy Hurst of the Y Community; one sister, Ada Rathai of Roseburg, Oregon; five grandchildren, Sherri Curnow, Brenda Johnson, Mona King, Rodney King and Kelly Hurst; six great grandchildren, Sonia Curnow, Jerome Martin, Jerid Martin, Devin Gurnsey, Brandon Gurnsey and Blake King; four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p. m Friday, September 28, 2007 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Rison with Brother Jim Tollison officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Buie Funeral Home of Rison. Pallbearers are Rodney Bowen, Richard Meeks, Bobby Ashcraft, Trenton Rhodes, Clyde Branson Jr., and Connie Kimbrell. Memorials may be made to the Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church, Family Life Center, P.O. Box 370, Rison, Arkansas 71665.
