Emily Jean Kelley

Emily Jean Kelley, 79, passed peacefully in the night to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 19, 2018.  She was born in Grant County, Arkansas on August 18, 1938.  She was baptized at age 13 in the Saline River and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church until her passing.  She graduated Valedictorian at Grapevine High School in 1956.  After graduating she resided in Pine Bluff, AR with her husband, Harold Oliger and daughters until she moved to Cleveland County, AR, in 1980.  She later became a secretary for the Cleveland County Conservation District where she retired after 18 years.  After retirement, she relocated to Cameron Parish, Louisiana to be near her family.

Emily was a loving mother and grandmother (Nanny).  She enjoyed reading, playing games on the computer and playing cards but her greatest joy was spending time with her great grandchildren. 

Those left behind to cherish her memories are two daughters, Danna Lynn Oliger-Johnson (Doug) of Sulphur, LA and Kellie Jean Oliger McKoin (Buster) of Grand Chenier, LA.  Seven grandchildren: Kris McKoin (Michelle), Keith McKoin (Chelsi) and Katie McKoin Armentor (Dustin) all of Louisiana, Jordan Johnson (Katie) of Clayton, NY, Jared Johnson (Kristen), Jameson Johnson (Megan) and John-Clark Johnson of Louisiana, previously of Rison, AR.  Fourteen great grandchildren: Kace, Kenadie & Kallie Armentor, Madden, Mia Kate & Miller McKoin, Collin McKoin, Bridgette, Madison & Jeremiah Johnson, Chandler Johnson, Max Johnson, Camden & Mason Johnson.  One brother, Rommie Kelley (Patricia), two nephews, two nieces, three great nephews and four great nieces.

Emily is preceded in death by her parents, Willis Emil and Gracie Lea (White) Kelley, her sister, Alice H. Rhodes and husband, Harold Oliger.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 6 - 8 p.m. and funeral services will be on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10 a.m., at Buie Funeral Home in Rison, AR with interment in Grapevine Cemetery at Grapevine, AR.  Funeral arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.buiefuneralhome.com.
