Betty Merline (Crutchfield) Drewery

Betty Merline Crutchfield Drewery, age 84 of Star City went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 24, 2019 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  She was born January 8, 1935 in Warren, Arkansas, to Samuel Orene and Argie Mae Stewart Crutchfield.  Mrs. Drewery was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church in Gould, Arkansas.  Before she retired, Mrs. Drewery employed for over twenty years with School Apparel and Levi Strauss.  She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and loved spending time with her family.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Damon Drewery; sisters, Glenna Andrews, Roberta Shelby, Lanelle Willis, Ruby Gatewood, Hazel Sissy Vinson, Verna Eades; brothers, Doyle and Dale Crutchfield.

Left to cherish her memory are her seven children, Dianne McGee (Buddy) of Star City, Rhonda McGriff (Larry) of Star City, Billy Crutchfield (Donna) of Star City, Liquinta Pipes (David) of New Edinburg, Jamie Drewery of Redfield, Denise Stanley (Keith) of Redfield, Vicki Cox of Rison; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Watson, Wanda Valentine, Jean Mason, Doris Rice, Gloria Hankins and brother, Ronald Pete Crutchfield.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Prosperity Cemetery in Rison with David Pipes officiating.  A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Pallbearers are her grandsons, Jason McGriff, Jeremy McGriff, David Crutchfield, Matthew McGriff, Tyler Long, Ryan Long, Tristian Cherry; honorary pallbearers are Buddy McGee, Larry McGriff, David Pipes and Keith Stanley. Memorials in Mrs. Drewery’s honor can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
